Rolex has launched the 2012 edition of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise, established in 1976 to encourage initiative around the world. The five winners, who will be chosen by an international Jury in early 2012, will receive an amount of $100,000 to support their projects.
People of all ages and from all countries who have developed innovative projects that improve the quality of life on our planet and contribute to the advancement of humanity are eligible to apply for the Awards. The projects fall into five core subject areas: Science and Health, Applied Technology, Exploration and Discovery, Environment and Cultural Heritage.
From this edition of the awards, a new feature is introduced: the online pre-candidacy, which can be submitted until 31 May 2011.
Applicants whose projects best meet the selection criteria will be invited by Rolex to submit a final application.
