At BaselWorld 2012, Rolex presented the Sky-Dweller, the company's first model with a dual time zone and annual calendar. The watch displays the local time via the central hands and the reference time via a rotating disc on the dial. The date is indicated inside the Cyclope magnifying glass located at 3 o'clock, which guarantees an immediate reading, while the months are indicated inside twelve discrete windows that follow the edge of the dial. To quickly adjust the local time, reference time and calendar, the timepiece features an innovative interface between the bezel and the movement. This interface is embodied in the rotating Rolex Ring Command bezel, which allows the great traveller to select the functions to be adjusted in a very simple way. Once the desired function has been selected, it can be quickly adjusted via the winding crown, in either direction. Another Rolex novelty at the show is the Submariner without date, which features a slightly redesigned case made of a 904L stainless steel superalloy, a Cerachrom bezel with engraved numerals and a new-generation three-row Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock safety clasp, equipped with a folding clasp, and a Glidelock extension system.
