Shadows 2016: space for designer jewellery

Shadows, the project featuring jewellery in all its beauty, is back again this year. The location of the event is Spazio Tortona 26, a modern Milanese loft that is a reference point for trendsetters and an ideal place for events in the world of fashion and design: at Via Tortona 26, it will be open to the public for the entire week of Design Week, from 12 to 17 April, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The group of goldsmiths is the same as last year: Mikky Eger, with his jewellery in silver and precious stones; Luigisalagioielli's creations in gold, silver and precious gems; Antonella Ferrara's jewellery. And then there is Alessandro Averla's jewellery and Maria Luisa Palazzo's microsculptures in metals and precious stones. But it doesn't end there: Daniela Repetto proposes jewellery in stones juxtaposed with fire enamels characterised by soft, sculptural lines; Sheila Cunha's creations in gold and silver, semi-precious stones and pearls; Andrea Lazzerini's jewellery with its unique and unmistakable style, characterised by contrasts between shiny and opaque and by the new chromaticity of metal and gems; transforming the idea into material to create new and essential jewellery is instead the soul of Limodoro. New entries include: Lorenzo Pepe's creations, inspired by the marine universe; Marinella Inzirillo's jewellery; Haruko Ito's jewellery; Francesca Mazzotta's creations. Last but not least: Caterina Galvano's delicate designs and organic shapes inspired by the world of nature; Simona Materi's contemporary jewellery; Stella Gnesutta's jewellery, unusual jewellery to be worn in everyday life in many different ways. In addition to the individual goldsmiths, this year there will also be the presence of a Gallery and a Goldsmith School, respectively the Rossini Gallery, which in its Milan exhibition point presents the current reality of contemporary jewellery with a selection of more than 30 authors including goldsmiths, sculptors and selected designers, and the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana, with two branches in Milan and one in Tokyo, where the realisation of precious metal jewellery, avant-garde design, wax modelling and engraving are taught. Plano, curator of the exhibition, will present the 2016 novelties: Controluce and Vetroscatola, luminous and transparent boxes whose contents, for the occasion, will come from the world of jewellery and 3D printing; a classic from the Plano collection, the Qbmobili container, will be used to make the display cases for the exhibition. The 3D printed materials will be produced by the Architectural Maker Lab, a research laboratory for architecture within the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia. The entire event has as its technical sponsor Ferrari Servizi Assicurativi, which for more than 50 years has been offering insurance services in the fields of jewellery, goldsmithing, precious stones trading, auction houses, auction merchants and transport of valuables.
