The SIHH 2011 seems to be the Watch Show of the World. Two interesting developments were presented by Cartier and Montblanc, for example.

The most beautiful and fascinating model for us, however, is the new Patrimony Traditionelle World Time from Vacheron Constantin. The first watch to display the actual 27 world time zones, including those regions where the time varies from the Greenwich meridian 0 even by fractions of an hour (30 or 15 minutes, such as Venezuela), it has a fascinating image and unparalleled practicality of use, with all indications easily adjustable solely through the crown.

The day/night indication is original, created by means of a half-smoked sapphire crystal, which overshadows the section of the planisphere in the centre of the dial that changes from day to night.

Local time is indicated by both the central hands and an arrow pointer at 6 o'clock. Once you have set the time for the city you are in, through the crown, on the outer ring of the dial you can read the local time of the 27 cities indicated to represent the world time zones.

The watch has a 42.5 mm diameter, pink gold case and is priced at €34,700. The visible case back allows one to observe the finishing of the IWC-manufactured calibre with a 40-hour power reserve.
