Inspired by the spirit of exploration in the mountains, the 1858 collection recalls natural atmospheres with its bronze cases and dials in a brand new khaki green shade combined with "NATO" straps in the same. Precise, legible and able to withstand the most extreme conditions, the legendary Minerva professional watches of the 1920s and 1930s were designed for military use and alpine exploration. Inspired by these historic timepieces, the Montblanc 1858 collection now pays tribute to the exceptional heritage of the Minerva manufacture. The three new editions, combining green and bronze, recall the spirit of exploration and the outdoor world. The Montblanc 1858 Automatic, Montblanc 1858 Automatic Chronograph and Montblanc 1858 Geosphere watches are thus reliable companions for those who love the spirit of adventure. The name of the 1858 collection obviously draws its inspiration from the year 1858, when Charles-Yvan Robert founded a watchmaking workshop in the Saint-Imier valley. Gradually, the Minerva manufacture established itself on the international scene thanks to its precision timepieces, becoming particularly important in the production of professional watches and chronometers. The Montblanc 1858 collection is inspired by the world of Alpine exploration, with the introduction of the new khaki green colour underlining its connection with nature. The bronze cases, with a polished and satin finish, feature thin, bevelled lugs. The case back is made of titanium with a bronze-coloured coating that reduces the risk of allergies. The caseback also bears an engraving of the iconic Mont Blanc, a compass and two crossed pickaxes, a tribute to the essence of alpine hiking. Other details include crowns with scalloping, reminiscent of vintage timepieces, and a robust, domed sapphire crystal that emphasises the vintage look of each watch. The khaki green dials offer maximum legibility and contrast with the luminescent, cloisonné and slightly convex cathedral-style hands for an extremely refined finish. Other details include the beige Arabic numerals with SuperLumiNova coating, the chemin de fer minute track, and the original Montblanc logo from the 1930s with the historic Mont Blanc emblem. To ensure the performance of this collection, all Montblanc 1858 models undergo more than 500 hours of wear simulation tests, with specific tests and checks under extreme conditions. This year, the company is introducing four new editions of the 1858: two 1858 Automatic, one 1858 Chronograph and one 1858 Geosphere. The two new 1858 Automatic are available with an all-bronze 40 mm case (previous versions had a steel case and bronze bezel) combined with a khaki green dial, or alternatively with a steel case and black dial. The new 1858 Chronograph is available in a 42 mm all-bronze case with a khaki green dial, while the 1858 Geosphere, dedicated to the "Seven Summit", the world's mountaineering challenge considered to be the "Holy Grail" of alpine excursions, is now also available in this new bronze/khaki colour combination.
