Following the launch of the Carrera 160 Years Silver Dial Limited Edition earlier this year to kick off the manufacture's 160th anniversary celebrations, TAG Heuer now presents a second collector's edition to mark the historic milestone. It is the Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition. "Montreal" was the name of a collection of Heuer automatic chronographs presented in 1972: today, the Montreal design makes a comeback in the form of an elegant 39mm TAG Heuer Carrera, produced in a limited edition of just 1,000 pieces. "The Heritage department selected the white Montreal design to celebrate TAG Heuer's anniversary because this watch represents pure beauty and its colourful dial conveys joy. We've played with existing design codes and brought them back to life in a bold new way, merging them with the spirit of the Carrera and breaking traditional canons in true TAG Heuer style," says Catherine Eberlé-Devaux, director of the TAG Heuer Heritage department. The new TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition is directly inspired by the White Heuer Montreal, reference 110503W, which was launched in 1972. Today, it is an extremely rare collector's watch. For the anniversary model, TAG Heuer has taken the original red, yellow and blue colour palette of the White Heuer Montreal. The chrono minute counter at 3 o'clock features three curved lines from 1 to 5, 10 to 15 and 20 to 25, coloured with yellow Super-LumiNova. The same yellow Super-LumiNova is also found on the central minute and hour hands, while the central chronograph seconds hand features red lacquer. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal. The watch has a polished stainless steel case and comes with a blue alligator strap, which picks up on the splash of colour on the dial. The numbering of the limited edition is engraved on the case back, which is fitted with a sapphire crystal that opens the Heuer Calibre 02 to view.
