Tudor Black Bay Bronze

The latest version of the Black Bay Bronze, presented last year, adopts an eye-catching shaded slate grey dial, combined with a unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminium insert in the same shade. The strap, in the jacquard fabric version (but also available in black aged leather), also takes up the same colour. Among the elements that recall the brand's rich heritage in the field of diving, it is impossible not to notice the "Snowflake" hands (a tribute to the Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner Ref. 7016 of 1969), as well as the oversized crown without protective shoulders (the so-called "Big Crown", taken from Ref. 7924 of 1958). However, the distinguishing feature of this Black Bay is certainly the use of satin-finished bronze for the 43 mm case, crown, bezel and pin buckle of the strap (the case back is made of bronze-coloured PVD-treated steel for hypoallergenic reasons). This material, a tribute to its use in the ships and diving equipment of yesteryear, is an aluminium and copper alloy that becomes coated with a slight patina over time, which will look different and unique depending on the habits of the watch's owner. The movement used is the Tudor manufacture calibre MT5601, with an antimagnetic silicon balance spring, variable inertia balance (equipped with a sturdy bridge with two attachment points) and a 70-hour power reserve. This is a very reliable movement, which is therefore well-suited to a watch like the Black Bay Bronze, and which is also decidedly accurate, being chronometer-certified after verification by the COSC. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 20 atmospheres.
