Construction of the building that will soon house the new factory is complete Hublot in Nyon. Obviously we are only talking about the basic structure, but the assembly of the internal part has already started, and the installation of the machinery is scheduled for February 2009.
To celebrate this achievement, Jean Claude Biver, the brand's CEO, presented the future developments and plans for the new building during a ceremony attended by industry insiders and the press: "By 2010, our goal is to produce between 5,000 and 8,000 movements entirely in these premises, and to reach a production of 20,000 movements by 2012! In addition, we also want to develop the training of young watchmakers, and make this building a space that promotes learning and the possibility of releasing creative energy!"
The building covers a total area of 5,000 square metres on six levels and will house the machining, assembly and complication workshop, as well as administrative offices and the R&D section.
In addition, a nursery space will also be ready in spring 2009, for the children of Hublot staff, but also for the children of people from outside Hublot.
