An evening in the company of Cyrus Watches

cyrus_renzopreziosi_chronosdiffusionA convivial evening, as appointments for members and friends of the Rotary Club are usually called, was the one that took place last 30 November at the Relais Villa La Borghetta in Figline Valdarno. It was also an opportunity to talk about fine mechanical watchmaking with representatives from Cyrus Watches and Gioielleria Renzo Preziosi. After the traditional opening ceremony of the Rotary evening, Ruben Mira Blanco, General Manager of the Swiss company, and the famous designer Jean-Francois Mojon took the floor to describe the philosophy of the company, one of the few independent brands on the market, and the distinctive elements of its haute horlogerie creations. Cyrus Watches was in fact founded in 2010, in Switzerland, and its name is already part of its vision: Cyrus the Great was in fact an important conqueror, but also a pioneer for his time. Likewise, Cyrus, while respecting tradition, aims to create unique watches, both in terms of design and the balance between precision and comfort. Since the foundation of the House, the Maison's creative team led by designer Jean-Francois Mojon - already a winner of the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie award - has been able to distinguish itself by combining innovative designs with excellent craftsmanship in an exemplary manner, which gave rise to the first watch lines, named Kambys, Klepcys and Kuros, as well as the first to feature the double crown, a characteristic element of all Cyrus Watches. Jean-Francois Mojon himself then spoke about the creative process of this and other innovations, which initially required considerable effort from the entire team at the Maison, managing to fine-tune the first model after no less than three years of intense work. "Thanks to our in-house research and development laboratory, we manage to be independent of suppliers for most of the components for our movements. And of course, this allows us to exercise better control over the quality and speed of production, and to easily adapt to demand, as well as being a strong lever to gain the trust of our retail partners," said Mira Blanco. "What we want to show with our creations is that fine watchmaking can be original without sacrificing quality, that it can draw continuous inspiration from tradition while continuing to innovate," continued the CEO of Cyrus Watches. Originality that is also the motto of the Renzo Preziosi jewellery shop in Reggello, which has been in business since 1985 precisely to satisfy unique creative requests from its customers. In addition to the goldsmith's art, then, experience in the field of precious stones and watchmaking grew hand in hand, becoming a reference point in the area for the distribution of the most exclusive brands and also launching its own line inspired by the world of motors.
