Cory Richards, professional photographer and long-time explorer, joins Vacheron Constantin, which chose him for its "One of not many" communication campaign. The photographs and videos taken on the vertiginous slopes of Everest during his ascent portray the beauty of the earth and nature, and will be displayed in Vacheron Constantin boutiques around the world. The creative collaboration with the Maison resulted in a prototype Overseas dual time, which Richards wore during his ascent, to check the time in Nepal but also the time at home, in the United States. It is a special piece, featuring an oscillating weight engraved with a design inspired by one of his Everest photos. The 41-millimetre-diameter case is made of titanium, a material that is both strong and light at the same time; under the bezel is a reinforcement made of tantalum, a particularly hard metal, while the crown protector is reinforced by two titanium supports. The model features a grey-blue strap in Ventile® technical fabric with orange stitching, which is distinguished by the material's density and extraordinary water-resistance. The sporty character of the prototype is also expressed through the grey-blue dial with orange accents and the NAC treatment applied to the movement.
