Organisation too laborious and times too tight, the Foundation of Haute Horlogerie (FHH) declines requests from other brands to participate in Watches & Wonders 2021. Guilty, the new contemporary exhibition that will bring together Patek Philippe, Rolex, Chopard, Chanel and Tudor. Which does not yet have a name. The FHH defines it simply (and in a manner of speaking): 'new salon'. To those who have applied for participation (in either event), the Foundation therefore replies that there is neither the time nor the resources to expand the number of participants in Watches & Wonders Geneva 2021. It was hoped that next year's edition would gather all the big brands in one place (Geneva), and in one fair, to give strength to the industry and visibility to the small ones as well. This will not be the case. However, the FHH leaves a door ajar for 2022: "The terms of participation in subsequent editions remain to be defined depending on the governance that will be put in place for the next edition". Please wait. Meanwhile, Basel is reorganising itself.
