Wyler Vetta and MV Agusta have collaborated on a new watch collection, including a chronograph and a solotempo, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the legendary Italian motorbike manufacturer.
Wyler Vetta presents a new collection of watches made in collaboration with MV Agusta, historic Italian motorbike manufacturer famous throughout the world for the technical quality and performance of its models. This collaboration, which aims to celebrate MV Agusta's 80th anniversary, stems from shared values, as the focus on mechanics and commitment to research. The encounter between these two realities has resulted in two timepieces: a chronograph powered by ETA calibre 2894 (with 42-hour power reserve), at limited edition of 80 pieces, e an automatic solotempo equipped with a La Joux-Perret G100 movement (68-hour power reserve), at limited series of 500 pieces. The movements are visible from the back side, thanks to a sapphire glass porthole.
Both employ a 40 mm steel case guaranteed waterproof to a pressure of 10 atmospheres (100 metres). "This collaboration was born from the meeting of two universes driven by a passion for excellence and creativity. Wyler Vetta, which has always been inspired by the world of motors and akin to that universe of adrenalin and precision, combines its watchmaking expertise with the MV Agusta two-wheel legend. Together we came up with timepieces that transform technique into emotion, celebrating style, performance and Italian history," commented Beppe Ambrosini, Partner and Senior Advisor at Wyler Vetta.
Distinctive feature of the new watches Wyler Vetta x MV Agusta is the dial, conceived as a direct homage to the world of racing. In the centre, carbon fibre recalls the material of choice for racing motorbikes: lightweight, durable and a symbol of extreme performance. The colour red verghera chosen for the background is a quotation from the historical livery of MV Agusta, a shade that has accompanied the brand in many of its victories. The bar and Arabic numeral indices are applied and coated with SuperLuminova, ensuring optimal readability even in the most dynamic conditions.
Wyler Vetta celebrates 80 years of MV Agusta
To celebrate this important anniversary, Wyler Vetta presents two new models, a chronograph and a solotempo.
Also on the dial, a golden detail stands out: the number "37", between 7 and 8 o'clock, in memory of the 37 titles won by MV Agusta in MotoGP, a unique achievement in the two-wheel world. The Wyler Vetta x MV Agusta chronograph is distinguished by its tachymeter scale and silver-plated counters, designed to evoke the instrumentation of track motorbikes, while in the solotempo version the silver minute track enhances the balance and cleanliness of the design.
On both models, at 12 o'clock is the Wyler Vetta logo, while at 6 o'clock is the MV Agusta logo. Every detail has been designed with an eye on the world of two wheels: The steel spheres with SuperLuminova insert recall the aerodynamic shape of tachometer hands, while the seconds hand is in a racing red. "Every MV Agusta motorbike is born from the encounter between extreme engineering and iconic design. Collaborating with Wyler Vetta has allowed us to transfer the same philosophy to our timepieces: Precision, style and dynamism become a tangible experience to be worn on the wrist, as if every moment were as intense as a race', said Filippo Bassoli Chief Brand & Marketing Officer of MV Agusta.
The crown at 3 o'clock echoes the shape of the toothed wheel of the MV Agusta logo and bears the logo itself. The chronograph buttons are inspired by the Torx screws found on motorbike fuel tank caps. In both timepieces, the crown at 10 o'clock allows the revolving rehaut. The screw-locked backwith transparent sapphire glassallows the automatic movement to be observed, whose oscillating weight echoes the MV Agusta logo, together with the Wyler Vetta logo.
The chronograph is offered with steel bracelet with quick release, flanked by a brown leather strap. The solotempo is equipped with brown leather strap and a second black perforated rubber strapwith a decidedly racing character.
