To celebrate its 160th anniversary, Zenith presented three new blue ceramic chronographs, including the Pilot Big Date Flyback.
Presented in a revamped version in 2023, the Pilot of Zenith is the result of the Le Locle Maison's passion for aviation. Georges Favre-Jacot, founder of Zenith, registered the French trademark 'Pilote' as early as 1888, followed by the English version 'Pilot' in 1904.
The company soon became an important manufacturer of pilot's watches and instruments, thanks to its timepieces that accompanied important personalities, who dared to dream big and achieve the impossible. Like Louis Blériot, for example, who was the first person to fly over the English Channel in 1909.
The new Zenith Pilot Big Date Flyback 160th Anniversary Edition is part of a trilogy of chronographs reathe House on the occasion of its 160th anniversaryversary and characterised by the use of blue ceramic (used for the case and bezel), new shade from the Maison. Pushers and crown are made of titanium.
Pilot Big Date Flyback 160th Anniversary Edition: El Primero calibre
This celebratory model is powered by the famous El Primero high-frequency calibre, visible from the back side.
This particular version of the Pilot Big Date Flyback, with a diameter of 42.5 mm, is powered by the El Primero 3652 calibre (36,000 vibrations per hour, 60-hour power reserve, column wheel), evolution of Zenith's legendary high-frequency automatic chronograph and embellished with a rocustomised with the emblembut of the anniversary.
In blue as the case is also made the textured dial, with SuperLuminova luminescent hands and numerals. The watch is equipped with two easily interchangeable straps, one in rubber with Cordura effect in blue and the other in white. The triple folding clasp is in steel.
On the dial, the large double-window instantaneous date display at 6 o'clock stands out, as do the additional counters for the chrono minutes (at 3 o'clock) and continuous seconds (at 9 o'clock). Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 atmospheres (100 metres). Finally, it is a limited edition of 160 exemplari, which can be purchased individually or as part of a special set.
