Audemars Piguet presents the '180' music series

The "180" miniseries traces the unusual challenge that Audemars Piguet has issued to a number of promising musicians. Their mission is to go beyond their "comfort zone" and collaboratively create an original soundtrack in which different creative universes merge. These encounters are in tune with Audemars Piguet's tireless endeavour to push artistic talents to create extraordinary works to touch the public's heart. Stimulating emerging artists to explore different territories through a journey beyond the boundaries of music, this mini-series contemplates the personal and collective challenges of a common creation process, bringing the audience even closer to the roots of creativity. For the second episode of 180, entitled 'Come Around', Montreal-based filmmaker Patrick Antoniewicz, director of Sixteen Pads, immerses himself in the creative process by filming the playful encounter between musical artists Betta Lemme and THe LYONZ. Patrick, who has produced numerous music videos in collaboration with multiple artists including Imposs, Corneil, Rymz and Laurence Nerbonne, is in his element in this type of work. However, for the 180 series she had to try her hand at something new, namely filming the spontaneous collaborative process of artists with different musical backgrounds. The musician and singer-songwriter Betta Lemme, who burst onto the international scene with the success of her debut 'Bambola' (2017), is inspired by the orchestral pop of the 1960s, the dance music of the 1990s as well as the eclectic universes of musical artists such as David Bowie and Missy By contrast, the musical style of the group THe LYONZ fuses hip hop and electronic music through heavily processed layers on the synthesiser, changing patterns on the percussion, treated instruments and melancholic verses. The encounter between Betta Lemme and THe LYONZ has produced a surprising universe in which musical instruments and voices are electronically mixed in a harmonious composition that generates emotions. Beyond the musical experience, the episode highlights the cardinal principle shared by Betta and THe LYONZ, namely to always create for fun. "I agreed to participate in this project because I thought it would be interesting to lock two completely unrelated artists in a room and see what they would come up with. A kind of fascinating social experiment, if you like. And that is exactly what it became', declared Betta Lemme.
