Audemars Piguet - Sihh 2015: Royal Oak Concept

Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak Concept is a prototype resulting from a research programme carried out in collaboration with the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne). In this way, the Swiss Maison has significantly improved the quality and transmission of sound, not an easy task when considering the limitations imposed by water-resistance, which inevitably attenuates the intensity of sound. The movement, a hand-wound mechanical manufacture movement with minute repeater, tourbillon and column-wheel chronograph, is housed inside a 44-millimetre diameter titanium case. The water-resistance rating is 20 atmospheres. The dark colour of the case is matched by the black of the dial and the strap closed by a folding clasp, also in titanium.
