The GPHG's independent jury, also composed of L'Orologio editor Dody Giussani, awarded 19 prizes, including the Grand Prix 'Aiguille d'Or', which went to Audemars Piguet for its Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Extra-Flat Automatic watch. Bulgari, Chanel, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, Genus, Hermès, Kudoke, MB&F, Ming, Seiko, Tudor, Urwerk, Vacheron Constantin and Voutilainen were also honoured for their expertise and creativity. On the eve of its 20th anniversary, the GPHG announced the imminent creation of an academy for the profession. This important initiative, supported by the city and canton of Geneva, will benefit from the collaboration of numerous ambassadors who will take part in the various stages of watch selection and contribute to the worldwide promotion of the art of watchmaking. The academy will be operational in spring 2020.
