Bulgari merges all watchmaking production in Saignelégier

The Roman Maison's production is now united in a single site in Saignelégier. Bulgari has in fact restructured its integrated production site for cases, bracelets and dials in the small town in the canton of Jura, the heart of Swiss watchmaking savoir-faire. Bulgari's Watch Division has more than 300 employees spread over several sites. Although its central hub is in Neuchâtel, production of the various watch components had previously been distributed between Le Sentier (Joux Valley) for mechanical movements, Saignelégier for cases and bracelets and La Chaux-de-Fonds for dials. In order to promote both rationalisation of production and innovation, these industrial activities have now been brought together under one roof in Saignelégier to create an integrated centre of expertise on the external parts of the watch. The division dedicated to the production of all components outside the movement of Bvlgari watches employs a total of 125 people. The existing building was completely restored and extended to accommodate the more than 20 different professions required in the manufacture of cases, bracelets and dials. This particularly rare approach, in an industry that is often fragmented due to the specificity of the individual trades involved, has the advantage of bringing together closely related activities. Bulgari has decided to bring them together in a single site to promote synergies and foster the discovery of new skills for all activities, with the aim of developing know-how within an interdisciplinary approach.
