Roger Dubuis - Excalibur Monobalancier

The 42-mm case, bezel and crown of the new Excalibur Monobalancier by Roger Dubuis (produced in a limited edition of 88 pieces) are made of MCF (an acronym that stands for Mineral Composite Fiber), a material composed of 99.9% silica, manufactured by Roger Dubuis using the Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) process. It is a very strong high-tech material, 2.5 times lighter than ceramic and 13% than carbon. In addition, the Mineral Composite Fibre guarantees high resistance to UV, natural and artificial light. Inside beats the skeletonised RD820SQ calibre (37.1 mm diameter, 6.3 mm thick, 166 components, 35 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 60-hour power reserve), a self-winding mechanical movement, awarded the Geneva Hallmark and equipped with a skeletonised micro-rotor visible at 11 o'clock on the dial side. Also visible on the dial side is the star-shaped bridge, typical of Roger Dubuis production. The movement is also visible from the back side. Water-resistant to a pressure of 5 atmospheres, the new Excalibur Monobalancier by Roger Dubuis is combined with a white rubber strap with a double folding clasp made of titanium.
