The May issue of L'Orologio is available at newsstands and on our app. Don't miss it!

Issue 315 of L'Orologio, May 2023, is available on newsstands. This month's cover story features the new IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40, the direct successor to the Ingenieur SL Ref. 1832 designed in the 1970s by Gérald Genta, which now returns updated with new details and improved ergonomics. "Gérald talked a lot about the Ingenieur. And he was very proud of it," his wife, Evelyne Genta, told us in an interview in London in February at the preview of the new model's launch.

Among this month's interviews, Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, talks to us about the values of a brand that strongly preserves its exclusivity. And Nicolas Baretzki, CEO of Montblanc, tells us about the new 2023 models and his vision for the future of the company's watchmaking.

The "Buying Guide" is dedicated to "genderless" models, with 37 and 38 millimetre cases, a trend that is becoming increasingly popular. And then the story of the exclusive event organised by Longines in Milan for L'Orologio Club members: a unique opportunity to get in touch with the brand and its history.

And again, the history and evolution of the high-frequency 36,000 vib/h movements, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 2 Tech Gombessa specifically designed for long-duration technical diving, the return of Daniel Roth and the restyling of Bulgari's Octo Roma, with the debut of a chronograph version in the collection.

The technical focus this month is on movements with alarm functions. There is also space for the most interesting models from the collectors' point of view from IWC, for the new Paul Mariner by Paul Picot and much more, including the usual columns dedicated to Microbrands, Manufactures and the most important auctions of recent months. The digital copy of The Clock, for PCs, Macs, smartphones and tablets, can be purchased via our app, downloadable free of charge from Google Play and the App Store, or by clicking on the following link:
