A Lange & Söhne - Lange 1 Time Zone

Reading the local time and the time in a second time zone on the dial of the Lange 1 Time Zone is just a glance away. 15 years after its presentation, this exclusive watch has been equipped with a new manufacture calibre. The new version of the Lange 1 Time Zone brings together functionality, readability and quality craftsmanship. The design features an off-centre dial with two time indications, big date and power reserve display. The characteristic rotating city ring remains, allowing the second time zone to be set conveniently. Unlike the World Time watches, on the Lange 1 Time Zone you can tell the time in your own country and that of a second time zone at a glance. While the larger hour circle shows the local time, on the smaller one you can set the second time zone with the help of the city circle. By adjusting the time via the crown, both indications are corrected simultaneously. One of the main innovations is the shifting of the day and night indications for home time and time zone - previously represented by small rotating arrow hands - to the centre of the two dials. Together with the hour hand, they indicate whether the time refers to the first or second half of the day. The discs, on which a blue semicircle is printed, rotate around their own axis once in 24 hours, while the hour hand makes two revolutions in the same time. In addition, the new Lange 1 Time Zone has an additional, practical display at 5 o'clock, next to the golden arrow indicating the set time zone. If the window is entirely red, daylight saving time is in effect at the corresponding location. If standard time is in effect all year round, the indication appears against a light background. With the new IWC-manufactured L141.1 calibre, all models in the Lange 1 watch family, originally based on the L901 base calibre, are now equipped with these new movements, into which all the experience gained during the years of development of the 65 calibres has been incorporated. Compared to the previous model, the 72-hour power reserve is achieved with only one barrel. Other technical features include a classic screw balance and a freely oscillating balance spring manufactured in the manufactory with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The dimensions of the new Lanfe 1 Time Zone have remained unchanged. With a diameter of 41.9 millimetres, the case is 10.9 millimetres thick. The Lange 1 Time Zone is available in case/dial combinations in black/white gold, rose gold/silver gold and in a limited edition of 100 in yellow gold/champagne.
