Arnold & Son Globetrotter

Arnold_Son_Globetrotter_01Arnold & Son boasts a great tradition in the manufacture of marine chronometers: just think that Arnold & Son chronometers accompanied explorers such as James Cook in the Pacific Ocean and Sir John Franklin in the icy areas of Canada. This year, the Anglo-Saxon company's new offerings include this fine model with world hours, indicated by a globe in the centre of the dial, surrounded by a 24-hour disc. Also spectacular is the upper bridge, which "supports" the aforementioned globe made of copper and subsequently polished and lacquered. The movement used, mechanical with automatic winding, is the A&S6022 calibre (29 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 45-hour power reserve), which is also visible from the back side. The 45-millimetre case is in steel and is guaranteed water-resistant to a pressure of 3 atmospheres.
