Vertical Act: ideas outside the box

An innovative hand-wound watch that defies the fashions of the times: from this "provocation" comes Atto Verticale, a brand designed by the Masera Design studio and its director, Tommaso Masera. With a case 42 millimetres in diameter, made of sand-blasted aluminium coloured by anodising, this singular timepiece showcases the movement, enclosed within two sapphire crystals (one protecting the dial and the other, with a matt finish, protecting the back with a transparent central section that leaves the mechanism visible). The power reserve is 30 hours. Guaranteed water-resistant to a pressure of 3 atmospheres, the watch features an unprecedented crown at 12 o'clock, skeleton hands with luminescent end-piece - for optimal visibility even in poor lighting conditions or in the dark - and an interchangeable Nato strap in vintage-effect leather or cordura, fastened by a sandblasted steel buckle with an applied logo. Atto Verticale was awarded the Silver A'Design Award, in the jewellery/watches category, by the International Design Academy, made up of members of the international press, designers, architects and new entrepreneurs.
