Baume & Mercier: the new generation Riviera

Somewhere between avant-garde Seventies-style design and the sporty classicism of contemporary watchmaking, Baume & Mercier's Riviera reinvents itself. It does so with a 42-millimetre-diameter steel case, the traditional dodecagonal bezel with four screws, and a Baumatic automatic movement whose gear-trains can be glimpsed through the decorated blue sapphire crystal dial. This movement, known and appreciated thanks to the success of the Clifton collection, ensures a power reserve of five days, an accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day and an anti-magnetism of up to 1,500 Gauss to guarantee reliable protection against magnetic fields. The watch, which comes with an integrated steel bracelet, is also offered in a second version with a smoked grey sapphire crystal dial and a soft black strap. Price: 3,600 euros.
