Blancpain: the watches of haute cuisine

Blancpain: gli orologi dell'alta gastronomia

Not only sporting events or car shows and so on. Watch brands also associate themselves with good food, as did Blancpain, these days the official timekeeper of the 2009 Bocuse d'Or, the world's most renowned cooking competition in international gastronomy. The Bocuse d'Or 2009 started yesterday and will end today in the context of the 14th International Exhibition of Catering, Hospitality and Food (Sirha) in Lyon Eurexpo.

24 budding chefs from all over the world compete in the preparation of exquisite dishes judged by top chefs. The contestants have a precise 5.30 hours to rival their talents on the themes of Scottish Aberdeen Angus and Products of the Norwegian Sea. The time allotted to the candidates is scrupulously measured by Blancpain's Flyback Chronographs

Representing Switzerland is Stéphane Décotterd, from the restaurant Le Pont de Brent (Montreux). The winner will receive a Flyback Grande Date Chronograph, hand-engraved for this occasion.
