Blancpain - Villeret Tourbillon

In 1998, Blancpain produced Calibre 25, the first automatic tourbillon movement with an 8-day power reserve. Sixteen years later, the brand produced the new automatic Calibre 242, which has a power reserve of no fewer than 12 days with the adoption of a single barrel. All this in a case just 6.10 millimetres thick. The movement is equipped with a balance spring and silicon anchor. Beautiful is the dial, in grand feu enamel with painted Roman numerals, in which the flying tourbillon cage (which makes one rotation per minute) stands out at 12 o'clock, enlarged to offer perfect visibility of the balance and escape wheel. It is made in platinum in a limited and numbered edition of 18 (€119,400), but is also available in a red gold series version (€102,200).
