Presented last year, the Avenger Hurricane fully lives up to this definition. It features a 50 mm-diameter case made of Breitlightt, an exclusive high-tech material that is 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel, but considerably harder, and endowed with multiple qualities, such as exceptional resistance to scratches, traction and corrosion, non-magnetism, thermal stability and hypoallergenic character. The Avenger Hurricane "squadron" now welcomes a new member, in which the IWC-manufactured B12 calibre (with its military 24-hour display) gives way to the Breitling-manufactured 01 calibre, which displays the time in a more conventional 12-hour manner, but with the same great precision and reliability guaranteed by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) chronometer certificate. On this instrument for professionals, the slightly marbled black colour of the Breitlight case (water-resistant to 10 atmospheres) is matched by a technical yellow or black dial, punctuated by the white "chablon" numerals typical of aeronautics. Luminescent hands and a thick sapphire crystal, anti-reflective on both sides, guarantee perfect readability in all situations. The unidirectional rotating bezel features four pivots for storing times. Like all Avenger models, the pushers and crown have a non-slip surface that ensures optimal handling even when wearing gloves. The strap combines comfort and robustness. The inside and sides are made of rubber and the outside is made of a high-strength anthracite-coloured Military textile fibre.
