To celebrate the unveiling of the Bentley Continental Supersports, Breitling for Bentley has created a limited series of a chronograph with a titanium case, carbon dial and connected movement equipped with specific functions for motor racing. The Breitling for Bentley adventure began in 2003 with the Continental GT, a car for which Breitling designed the dashboard watch. From that encounter was born a rich collection of mechanical chronographs. Today, Breitling for Bentley is offering an exceptional chronograph designed as a tribute to the new Continental Supersports, the fastest Continental ever built, which reaches a top speed of 336 km/h, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and features a completely new design. Produced in 500 examples worldwide, the Bentley Supersports B55 chronograph is distinguished at first glance by its sporty look, its sturdy and lightweight titanium case, and its dial made of carbon fibre, a reference material for motor racing, which also appears in many details of the new Continental Supersports. The exquisite bodywork is matched by an equally exquisite engine. For the first time in the history of Breitling for Bentley, in fact, a chronograph dedicated to the British manufacturer houses an electronic movement, and not just any old one. It is the new version of the Breitling B55 connected calibre, enriched with functions tailor-made for cars. In addition to the flyback chronograph, lap timing and electronic tachometer, this B55 "Racing" calibre has three exclusive chronograph functions. The 'chrono rally' function allows up to 30 stages to be recorded, with the start date of the rally, start time, duration and intermediate times of each stage, plus any penalties. Thanks to the 'chrono race' function, designed for track events, the user can record split times for each lap and calculate the average speed per lap. The 'regularity rally' function, which is useful when the objective is to cover a given distance in a given time, offers the possibility of defining target times or split times on a total time in advance, and then checking with a simple press if they are met. The fully autonomous Bentley Supersports B55 is designed as a complete chronograph. The connection with a smartphone is used to enhance its functionality and to store or transmit data. The smartphone app was developed in Switzerland specifically for this watch. The two liquid crystal displays (LCD) are equipped with a backlight system that can be activated by simply pressing on the crown or tilting the. A splendid tribute to the sportiest of the Continental GTs, and a showcase for Breitling's innovations, the Bentley Supersports B55 houses the officially chronometer-certified SuperQuartz movement, and once again extends the functionality, precision and performance of the model at the cutting edge of connected chronographs.
