Breitling - Montbrillant Watches

Breitling presents its new version of the Montbrillant, for the first time in production with the Breitling calibre 01, entirely designed and manufactured in the company's ateliers and launched in 2009 on the occasion of the brand's 125th anniversary. This COSC-certified quarter-second chronograph has a high-frequency automatic movement (28,800 vibrations per hour) and a power reserve of over 70 hours. The case, in the unmistakable style of the 1940s-1950s, is 40 millimetres in diameter in steel. The bezel is knurled and rotates in both directions to operate the slide rule for the flight parameters. This version has a silver-toned dial on which the polished-finish indices stand out; at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock are the three sub-dials for operating the chronograph. A nice aggressive touch, recalling the sporty vocation of this instrument, is given by the red colouring of the chronograph seconds hand and the hundredth-hour scale (useful for calculating average speed) in the centre of the dial. Engraved on the caseback is the name of Léon Breitling, the brand's founder, and the silhouette of the old building on the rue Montbrillant in La Chaux-de-Fonds where, from 1892 to 1979, the company's workshops were located. Price: 6,350 euros.
