On the occasion of the latest edition of Wheels & Waves, a festival dedicated to the world of surfing and motorbikes held in Biarritz, France, Breitling presented two new editions of the Top Time chronograph.

Launched in the 1960s, the Top Time still retains its unconventional soul. The two new versions are the result of a collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles and Deus Ex Machina (a brand, the latter, specialising in clothing for surfing and custom motorbikes), brands with which Breitling has already collaborated in the past.

Breitling's IWC-manufactured calibre 01 is visible through the sapphire-glass porthole on the screw-down case back.

The new Top Times are powered by the Breitling manufacture calibre 01 (324 components, 40 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, power reserve of approximately 70 hours), an automatic, chronometer-certified mechanical movement from the Cosc, equipped with a column wheel and vertical coupling.

On this subject, Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling, said: "These co-designed Top Time watches are dedicated to those who love the mechanics of the watch as much as the mechanics of the motorbike. The Breitling Calibre 01 is a finely tuned engine, created with all the precision and attention to detail needed to build the perfect motorbike."

Both of the new Top Times employ a steel case with a diameter of 41 mm (water-resistant to 10 atmospheres), with a domed sapphire crystal that has undergone an interior and exterior anti-reflective treatment. The back also features a sapphire crystal, which opens to reveal the movement.

The Top Time B01 Deus sports a 'panda' type dial (black with white counters). In the Top Time B01 Triumph, on the other hand, the company has opted for an ice-blue dial, echoing one of the most recognisable and popular dials of 1960s watchmaking, known as 'Zorro' because of the bow-tie motif that characterises it. A motif that, in the new model, has been integrated with a metal brushing technique that is only visible under a certain light.

The watches are completed by a black perforated calfskin strap in 'racing' style (with folding clasp), or alternatively by a steel Milanese mesh bracelet (with butterfly clasp).
Price7,550 euro each.
