Corum Golden Bridge Automatic
10th Anniversary

Since its foundation in 1955, Corum has always been at the forefront of design and technology, creating bold looks and innovative movements. This is also the reason why the brand is known for several iconic models, from the 'coin watch' to the Admiral and the Bubble. Within Corum's production, however, a prominent place is certainly held by the Golden Bridge, with the first ever in-line baguette movement made in 1980. Nearly thirty years later, in 2011, Corum made an automatic version of the in-line movement that received much acclaim. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Golden Bridge Automatic, the Swiss watchmaker pays tribute to one of its emblematic collections by producing four new models using a case that reveals the meticulously finished movement from several angles. The original in-line movement, considered avant-garde for its time, was first created in 1970 by Vincent Calabrese. Calabrese presented his patented concept, a totally skeletonised in-line movement made up of 45 elements, in 1977 at the Geneva International Inventors' Show, catching the attention of Corum's management who, with some foresight, immediately acquired the patent, initiating a collaboration to develop this revolutionary movement. Corum's first Golden Bridge watch, with movement parts in gold, made its debut at the Basel Fair in 1980. The calibre was an immediate success and won the hearts of enthusiasts all over the world. Since then, all the evolutions have left an indelible impression on the world of collectors. When Corum decided to create an automatic version of the Golden Bridge, it turned to its specialised research and design team to develop the complex calibre. The development of this new calibre took more than four years, as the company tirelessly pursued a way to show a floating linear movement with an oscillating mass on rails. Corum's Golden Bridge Automatic, presented in 2011, ushered in a new era for this contemporary icon. Today, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the in-line automatic movement, Corum has released four new Golden Bridge Automatic. The 37.2 x 51.8 mm tonneau-shaped case offers a spectacular view of the movement thanks to the panoramic sapphire crystal and the larger case back than in previous models. In addition, for the first time Corum has created the glass as a single piece of sapphire that extends from the top to the sides of the watch, allowing a 360-degree view. The collection includes a model in titanium and 18-carat gold, made in a limited edition of 150 pieces, and an all-titanium version, made in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Both materials are also embellished with diamonds set on the case. Only 100 examples of the titanium and rose gold version set with diamonds will be produced, and only 25 of the titanium and white gold watch, also set with diamonds. All four models are powered by the original automatic movement, still incredibly advanced even by modern standards. Comprising 194 parts, the exclusive Corum C0 313 calibre boasts a 40-hour power reserve, a variable-inertia balance, a miniaturised barrel, 18-carat gold bridges and a linear platinum oscillating weight. Water-resistant to 3 atmospheres, the 10th anniversary Golden Bridge Automatic watches are fitted with an alligator strap with a triple folding clasp.
