De Bethune launches the Sensoriel Chronometry Project

De Bethune offers its customers the opportunity to wear, prior to a purchase, a test watch equipped with multiple sensors that will record the future owner's ecosystem based on his or her specific lifestyle, for a tailor-made chronometric adjustment.

De Bethune Sensoriel Chronometry Project

De Bethune's 'Sensoriel Chronometry Project' is a unique and original idea. Do you want to know what it is? Before purchasing an actual watch, the customer will have the opportunity to wear a test watch equipped with several sensors that will record the 'ecosystem' of the future owner, in order to have a tailor-made chronometric adjustment, based on his or her specific lifestyle. Taking, with a practical and functional approach, the concept of customisation to a whole new level.

De Bethune Sensoriel Chronometry Project

The company started with the DB28GS Grand Bleu: two weeks of use of the test watch will be enough time to collect all the data that will allow the De Bethune Chronometry Workshop in Switzerland to analyse the type of use and then adjust the watch specifically for its owner. The sensors are able to detect parameters such as pressure, humidity, temperature, movement, position, shock.

De Bethune Sensoriel Chronometry Project

To achieve this goal, De Bethune has built a robotic arm in his L'Auberson factory. Installed in an adjustable atmosphere chamber and using state-of-the-art technology, this device will receive all the data collected by the sensors of the test watch and will therefore be able to accurately recreate the movements of the wearer in his or her specific environment. Each watch that will benefit from a customised chronometric adjustment will be accompanied by a personalised data sheet. The future purchaser will only have to wear the test watch under the same conditions as he would wear his normal watch every day and charge it on a simple charging station or using a classic USB cable.
