The Tondo by Night collection by de Grisogono is a lively line in which the refined art of gem-setting blends harmoniously with technical features. Regarding the first aspect, these colourful timepieces are adorned with 48 gems on the bezel and 60 precious stones arranged in rows of three and set on the oscillating weight, visible from the dial side. The shades chosen for the timepiece are white, yellow, pink, green, violet and orange, and for each of them we find different gemstones: the orange version, for example, is paired with matching sapphires, while the white version is accompanied by sparkling diamonds, so as to maintain a chromatic continuity for all the timepieces. The dominant theme, however, is the use of "Pearly photoluminescent composite fiberglass" (PLF), a novel luminescent material that covers the case and the clasp of the galuchat strap: while during the day, in sunlight, it is the numerous gems that glow from these watches, at night, thanks to this special and innovative treatment, it is the case and the clasp that light up. The movement is mechanical with automatic winding, calibre SF 30-89, with a 42-hour power reserve.
