Eberhard & Co. and 130 Years of the Legend

Eberhard & Co.'s renewed tribute to one of the best drivers ever: Tazio Nuvolari.

On 16 November 1892, 130 years ago, Tazio Nuvolari, the legendary champion who dominated motor racing in the 1930s, was born in Castel d'Ario, in the province of Mantua. To mark this special anniversary, Eberhard & Co. is enriching the collection dedicated to him with a chronograph in an unprecedented 41 mm size that combines familiar elements with innovative details.

On the black dial with its helicoidal decoration, and with an embossed print of the classic carapace framing the initials of the 'flying Mantuan' and reminiscent of the tortoise-shaped brooch given to him by Gabriele D'Annunzio, the position of the two counters at 6 and 12 o'clock remains unchanged, and they are in white for the first time. The Arabic numerals used are also in white.

One detail that does not go unnoticed is the yellow used discreetly along the tachymeter scale on the flange, on the tip of the central chronograph seconds hand and for the stitching on the strap with a vintage effect, a tribute to the colour of the jumper Nuvolari always wore during races as a good luck charm.

Also noteworthy is the rosette work on the bezel and back, beneath which is an automatic movement, based on the ETA-Valjoux 7750. The watch is also available in a version with a sapphire crystal back that allows you to admire the movement and which is personalised with a gold reproduction of the historic Alfa Romeo Tipo 12/C, the same one in which the great driver won so many victories, under which the dates 1892-2022 have been inserted.

On sale from December, at authorised Eberhard & Co. dealers, at €3,350 (the version with a visible case back costs €4,250), the new Tazio Nuvolari watch is also available in the traditional version with a black dial and matching counters.
