Frederique Constant - Classics Art Deco Round

Frederique Constant introduces five new models with round cases from the Classics Art Deco collection. A return to the essential, contemporary and classic, for a collection dedicated to women created 13 years ago and whose success is still confirmed today. Art Deco was an artistic movement born in the first decade of the 20th century, reaching its peak in the 1920s. Thus, exactly one century later, Frederique Constant unveils the newest interpretation of its eponymous collection with the Classics Art Déco Round. This new model, feminine to the 100%, builds on over 10 years of watchmaking and styling savoir-faire. The Classics Art Déco range was in fact created in 2007. Contrary to fashion trends, it already manifested all the spirit of total independence of the family-run Maison: while the trend of "oversize" and mixed watches was gaining ground, Frederique Constant asserted its timeless classical style with a delicate and elegant collection. This was followed in 2013 by a bold oval variant, featuring a distinctive silhouette that is still present in the collection today. Now, and for the first time, the round format is offered in the Classics Art Deco collection. Long awaited by collectors and lovers of fine watchmaking, it is the result of more than ten years' reflection on design, femininity and refinement. Very often perceived as the starting point of watch collections, the perfect circle is, for Frederique Constant, a seriously thought-out achievement. The new Classics Art Deco Round line has appropriated the classic aesthetics of its predecessors while establishing itself as a timepiece of its era. Resolutely modern, the model is first and foremost feminine, with a very elegant case of harmonious proportions and great refinement to better emphasise the delicacy of the wrist that will wear it. With this in mind, the case is slightly curved, gaining in elegance and perfectly matching the curve of the wrist. Great care has been taken over the finishing of this new range, right down to the smallest detail. The case, for example, is only 30 mm in diameter; it also has grooves on the case middle, echoing the typical canons of many Haute Horlogerie models. As for the dial, the hours and minutes are indicated by "à pomme évidée" hands, in the style imposed by Breguet over two centuries ago. These sweep over a guilloché-engraved dial, which diffuses the light towards the Roman numeral hour markers. Three of the five models on offer combine the guilloché soleil finish with a mother-of-pearl dial ring, whose delicate reflections give life to a case offered in steel or with a pink gold finish. Each dial is matched to its respective bracelet, available in steel, steel/rose gold-plated steel or blue satin, for a soft and silky touch. These two models complete their glamorous style with 9 diamonds, which are delicately and soberly set at the lugs; each model is completed by a cabochon on the crown. Made for the everyday use of modern and distinguished women, these models (priced from 850 euros) are powered by a Frederique Constant quartz movement, which guarantees 6 years of operation.
