Frederique Constant - Runabout RHS Chronograph Automatic

In 2009, Frederique Constant and Riva began an uninterrupted collaboration, the fruit of which is the Runabout collection. The Geneva-based company now presents the new Runabout RHS Chronograph Automatic, a tribute to this enduring collaboration. The model is offered in two limited series of 2,888 pieces each. Through this collaboration, Frederique Constant has created several limited edition timepieces with the aim of supporting the Riva Historical Society in its noble mission. Each model draws free inspiration from Riva's heritage, imagination and universe. Borrowing some distinctive features linked to boating and travel, the Runabout collection aims to express the high quality that these two Maisons and their respective creations have in common. In 2020, therefore, this collaboration rediscovers a complication that had been missing for several years, namely the chronograph. Housed in a 42 mm steel case, the two new Runabout RHS Chronograph Automatic are tricompax chronographs (counters at 12, 6 and 9 o'clock), powered by the FC-392 automatic calibre, which guarantees 46 hours of power reserve. The Swiss origins of these timepieces can be found in the guilloché-engraved dial, available in anthracite grey or silver-plated. The hue of the sea is echoed in the stitching of the version with a black calfskin strap, and enriches the strap of the second model with grey stitching. The exclusive character of these two chronographs is indicated on the back of the model in two places. On the one hand, with the engraving of the individual number of each watch. On the other, with the original silkscreen printing of the official Riva Historical Society flag on the sapphire crystal of the timepiece. The visible case back offers aficionados the chance to admire the details of the FC-392 calibre, which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and is equipped with a gold-coloured oscillating weight. Each model is presented in a dedicated case, which contains a miniature replica of the legendary Riva "moored" on the side of the watch.
