Girard Perregaux - Casquette 2.0

Ceramic and grade 5 titanium for Girard-Perregaux's Casquette 2.0, which echoes the aesthetics of the model produced between 1976 and 1978, an avant-garde watch with a tubular LED display. Both materials contribute to increased comfort on the wrist compared to the polycarbonate and steel used in the past. Another difference concerns the new quartz movement, the GP03980 calibre: it is equipped with additional functions, including month, year, chronograph, second time zone and secret date, which allows an important date to be stored and displayed every day at the time specified by the owner. Finally, it allows the time to be displayed on demand, thus increasing battery life. Limited edition of 820 pieces. Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Girard-Perregaux, comments: 'Not all watches retain their attractiveness and desirability over time. But interest in the Casquette has never waned since the end of its production. We regularly receive enquiries and have found that these models are attracting a lot of interest, fetching 10 times the original price on the second-hand market. If only everything we bought increased in value this way! The original Casquette contributes to further reinforcing our reputation for designing watches with imperishable appeal. We are thrilled with the return of the Casquette - an elegant watch with enduring class. Finally, a curiosity: it is interesting to note that Girard-Perregaux was at the forefront of quartz technology for watches. In fact, the frequency of 32,768 Hz was defined by the Maison and was later adopted as the universal standard for quartz watches.
