Greubel Forsey - Art Piece 1

An artistic co-creation is among the novelties presented by Greubel Forsey at the 2013 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva: it is the Art Piece 1, created by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey in collaboration with Willard Wigan, a British artist specialising in the art of miniaturisation. The watch houses a micro-sculpture that is visible to the naked eye through a miniaturised optical system embedded in the left side of the case middle and equipped with a lens that allows the micro-sculpture to be magnified 23 times. Since its inception, the aim of this project has also been to integrate a sufficient amount of natural light, without the use of artificial sources. It is therefore sufficient to look through the lens of the timepiece to admire Wigan's incredible micro-sculpture. Finally, the Art Piece 1 also features the first fundamental invention of the Maison, the Double Tourbillon 30°.
