Hotel L'Orologio in Venice

Overlooking the Grand Canal, near the Rialto Bridge, the new Venetian luxury hotel dedicated to the world of collector's watches: its name is Hotel L'Orologio and it was inaugurated on 28 December 2014. Born out of the passion for haut de gamme watches of entrepreneur Sandro Fratini, owner of a very important collection of Rolex, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe timepieces, the hotel was designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, known for having realised the concept of many Prada and Miu Miu stores around the world. The theme of the watch, inside the hotel, is declined through unique interpretations: original internal mechanisms in elegant boiseries in the reception area; large hands in the bar area and faithful reproductions of important working collector's watches. Even in the hotel's fifty rooms, many of which overlook the Grand Canal, there is a reference to the universe of hands, such as the luminous painting made from real clock mechanisms. The Venetian hotel aims to repeat the success of its Florentine counterpart opened at the end of 2009 and located in the very central Piazza Santa Maria Novella, just a few steps from the Polo Fieristico e Congressuale di Firenze, in the heart of the shopping district and close to the city's major museums and monuments.
