The two faces of De Bethune

Two very different dials, both technically and aesthetically, give life to the DB Kind of Two Tourbillon, a reversible watch by De Bethune. Inside, a sophisticated mechanism, based on a complex system of gears and pinions arranged on the front and back of the timepiece, allows the hands to turn in the right direction, irrespective of the dial chosen. The front side sports a dial with a contemporary design, with central hour and minute hands, a tourbillon at 6 o'clock, complete with a 30-second display, and a new type of delta-shaped bridge, a hallmark of De Bethune, this time perfectly symmetrical and centrally positioned. The other side reveals a more traditional dial, with a guilloché decoration in the centre surrounded by Arabic numerals and surmounted by hour, minute and seconds hands also positioned centrally. The device that makes it possible to switch from one dial to the other, causing the grade 5 titanium case to rotate on its central axis, is represented by a system of floating lugs redesigned for the occasion and equipped on each side with a small, ingenious rotating mechanism consisting of 28 components. Thanks to a cam, a small 'notch' allows the watch case to be precisely positioned in line with the floating lugs. The movement is a hand-wound mechanical, De Bethune DB2579 calibre, with 36,000 vibrations per hour and a 5-day power reserve. On sale for CHF 215,000 (excluding tax).
