The square lines of the steel case of the Defy Skyline chronograph are reminiscent of those of the first Defy from 1969, revisited in a more contemporary 42 mm size. The push-buttons also follow the sharp, angular profile of the case. The screw-down crown with the star emblem guarantees water resistance to 100 metres.

Defy Skyline: a starry dial

The Zenith El Primero calibre with 1/10th of a second accuracy.

Three colours are available for the dial of Zenith's Defy Skyline chronograph: metallic silver, black or blue, decorated with the four-pointed star motif typical of the collection and reminiscent of the Zenith 'double Z' logo from the 1960s. The traditional layout of the El Primero dial features three slightly oversized, overlapping countersTwo chronograph totalisers (60 seconds and 60 minutes) and continuous seconds.

The movement is the El Primero 3600 calibre, a column-wheel chronograph that guarantees an accurate reading to 1/10th of a second: When activated, the central chronograph seconds hand makes one revolution every ten seconds, thanks to the 5 Hz frequency of the movement. The reading of the 1/10th of a second is given on the scale on the flange, characterised by twelve facets echoing the shape of the dodecagonal bezel.
