The sporty side of Grand Seiko: the Evolution 9 SLGA015 diver

The clean and essential design of the iconic Grand Seiko style in the modern Evolution 9 collection.

Did you know that Grand Seiko elegance can also be sporty? The clean, essential design of the iconic Grand Seiko style can be found in the modern Evolution 9 collection: a collection that takes Grand Seiko's readability and comfort to a new level.

This is the case with the Evolution 9 Spring Drive SLGA015, a diver with all the technical features of the case: water resistance to 200 metres, graduated unidirectional rotating bezel with ceramic insert, screw-down case back and crown, and resistance to magnetic fields of up to an impressive 4,800 A/m. A robust watch, with a 43.8 mm diameter case and a titanium bracelet, about 30% lighter than steel, which gives it excellent comfort on the wrist.

The deep black dial is inspired by the Kuroshio ocean current, which flows powerfully through the Japanese archipelago. It is also called the 'black current' because of the intense colour of its waters. It is evoked by the wave pattern on the dial, which does not, however, disturb legibility, a very important feature for a diver, guaranteed by the large applied hour markers and oversized hands coated in LumiBrite.

In addition to the date, the watch features a power reserve indicator. The movement is a latest-generation Spring Drive calibre, the 9RA5, slimmer and even more accurate (±0.5 seconds per day or ±10 seconds per month), with a power reserve of up to 120 hours.

Price11,800 euro.
