At sea with Mido

The Ocean Star Chronograph is Mido's new watch made for measuring sailing regattas. Its dial makes it possible to calculate a boat's average speed within a one-mile radius using the nautical tachymeter scale expressed in knots, while the high-tech ceramic rotating bezel enables further calculations to be made at certain intervals. On both, touches of SuperLuminova make it easy to use these functions even in the dark. At the heart of the watch is the calibre 60, a self-winding mechanical movement (ETA base A05.H31) with a 60-hour power reserve, encased in a sturdy black DLC-coated steel case. Water-resistant to 200 metres, it features a screw-down case back with an embossed polished starfish. It comes with two interchangeable straps with a sporty look: the first is in solid black rubber, while the second is in black technical fabric with orange stitching. On sale for €2,290. The Ocean Star Chronograph is also available in a titanium version with a blue ceramic dial and bezel.
