Jaquet Droz - Baselworld 2016 Preview: Grande Seconde Off-Centered

An emblematic Jaquet Droz model, the Grande Seconde superimposes the hour and minute dials on the oversized seconds dial. The company had already proposed a slight change by off-centring this particular display, creating an asymmetry with the seconds at 7 o'clock. Returning to the theme, giving a new look to this display is the adoption, for the first time, of a steel case 43 millimetres in diameter, which is accompanied by a beautiful dial made of a carved and polished deep black onyx disc. Bordering the two intertwined dials, which draw an emblematic 8, are two white gold rings. The asymmetry of the whole is underlined by the crown positioned at 4 o'clock. The movement is the automatic 2663A.P calibre with silicon balance spring and double barrel (68-hour power reserve).
