Jaquet Droz presents three new Grande Seconde Skelet-One

In just a few years, the Grande Seconde Skelet-One has become the mouthpiece of the Jaquet Droz avant-garde. It is a modern and revolutionary model that gives the skeleton configuration a new dimension. Jaquet Droz has recently unveiled three brand new versions, whose main features remain unchanged, such as the dial made of sapphire crystal, with 18-carat gold hour markers and hands, and tracing a large "8". At 6 o'clock, there is an oversized dial for the continuous seconds hand that 'flies' over the sapphire crystal, giving the impression of floating in a vacuum. Each new variant is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2663 SQ calibre, which is automatic mechanical and equipped with a silicon balance spring and anchor lugs, a double barrel (guaranteeing almost three days of power reserve, or 68 hours) and an 18-carat white gold openworked oscillating weight enclosed within the perimeter of the 41.5 mm case. The three new models enriching the Grande Seconde Skelet-One collection come in shades of green, light blue and yellow. Each model is limited to just 28 pieces and features the same colour for the straps, hands and chemin de fer pattern on the dials. The green and light blue versions share 18-carat white gold indexes and screws. To achieve a contrasting effect, the hour and minute circle as well as the case are made of black ceramic. The yellow model, on the other hand, emphasises more delicate tones. It is distinguished by red gold hour markers and fixing screws, a white gold hour and minute circle, and a plasma ceramic case. The latter is forged in a high-temperature furnace that gives the material metallic reflections without adding the slightest particle of metal. This chromatic transformation, which takes place at the molecular level, preserves all the intrinsic qualities of the ceramic and, at the same time, gives the watch an optimal colour harmony.
