Piaget's femininity

Piaget presents its new Limelight Gala, a watch inspired by a model from the past. With its domed case and asymmetrical lugs that extend over the bracelet, there are several designs on offer. Among these is the white gold version (Ref. G0A45163), which celebrates the collection's exclusive design with a hand-engraved bracelet and dial, emphasised by large diamonds and sapphires set in shades of blue. The bracelet, in particular, is made by assembling hundreds of gold links, which are then soldered to ensure optimal softness, and finally hand-engraved with a Palace decoration, one of Piaget's most iconic motifs that takes eight hours to make. The dial is also made of white gold and engraved using the same technique as the Palace decoration. It takes two hours to complete the dial and, to ensure a uniform design, the work is always done by the same master goldsmith who did the bracelet. To ensure that the Palace decoration can be admired, the dial is covered with translucent blue enamel that is fired several times at a temperature of over 800° C, a process from which the name Grand Feu enamel derives. One of the most challenging tasks was finding the perfect gems for this watch, which involved sampling large quantities of precious stones to ensure a perfect colour match, a task made even more complex by the necessary progressive size of the stones themselves and the high quality standards demanded by the Maison. To enhance the brilliance of the gems, Piaget's master jewellers set them by hand using the serti descendu technique. This timepiece has been produced in a numbered edition.
