The second edition of the Hausmann & Co./Patek Philippe Prize

Luigi Frati e Benedetto Mauro alla conferenza

Once again this year, Hausmann & Co. and Patek Philippe are supporting the Pasteur Institute - Cenci Bolognetti Foundation and the Department of Molecular Medicine of La Sapienza University of Rome. The Pasteur Institute - Cenci Bolognetti Foundation is a member of the International Network of Pasteur Institutes, which associates 32 independent institutes whose researchers, from different countries, are dedicated to the prevention and treatment of serious diseases, research activities aimed at the study and development of innovative drugs, public health activities carried out in collaboration with national health services and training activities aimed at the scientific communities of the various institutes around the world. Hausmann & Co. and Patek Philippe Italia's contribution to research will be €40,000. The decision to invest in scientific research, dedicating a great commitment in terms of both economic and human resources, goes hand in hand with the desire to continue a path that aims to support young Italian talents who have in some way distinguished themselves within their disciplines. Like last year, a cash prize and a gift will be awarded by the two companies to each of the three young winners. The award ceremony is scheduled for 11 June 2014, during a gala evening at the Villa Medici, Academy of France, in Rome. The selection, carried out according to transparent and objective principles, will assess the three best publications produced in 2013 by young researchers who obtained their PhD degree at Sapienza University of Rome in 2012, on the following topics: molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis; inflammation and cancer; immunotherapy of tumours. The publications will be assessed by a special jury composed for the occasion by: Angela Santoni (Department of Molecular Medicine - La Sapienza University of Rome); Paolo Amati (Pasteur Institute - Cenci Bolognetti Foundation); Armando Massarenti (Il Sole 24 Ore journalist); Francesco Hausmann and Benedetto Mauro (Hausmann & Co.); Laura Gervasoni (Patek Philippe Italia).
