Longines - BaselWorld 2013 Preview, Conquest Classic Collection

The Conquest trademark was registered by Longines with WIPO on 25 May 1954. Over the years, this name has been reserved for numerous successful Longines models. Today, Conquest Classic carries on the legacy of the collections characterised by classic aesthetics that have been the source of Longines' worldwide fame and success. This new line is dedicated to those who passionately follow the most prestigious races on the calendar, from Chantilly to Hong Kong, from Dubai to Royal Ascot. The Conquest Classic collection comes in three sizes. The women's models have a diameter of 29.50 mm. They show the hours, minutes, seconds and date and are available in steel, rose gold or a harmonious combination of steel and rose gold. The black or silver-plated dial, with its applied 12, 6 and 9 o'clock numerals, adds a sporty touch to the ensemble. These versions are also available in a 40 mm diameter. Some women's models are enriched by the presence of mother-of-pearl dials set with 12 diamonds and possibly 30 diamonds adorning the bezel. The chronographs, with a diameter of 41 mm, house the L688 column-wheel movement, specially developed and exclusively manufactured by ETA for Longines. The case is available in steel, in steel and pink gold or entirely in pink gold. The dial, available in silvered or black, displays the hours, minutes, small seconds at 9 o'clock, date and chronograph functions, arranged as follows: seconds in the centre, 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. The chronographs are offered with a black alligator strap or with a steel bracelet or even in steel and rose gold, with a folding safety clasp.
