On the occasion of the Louis Vuitton Trophy in Dubai, the watchmaker Louis Vuitton presented its new regatta watch, the Tambour Automatic Regatta Navy, a chronograph equipped with the LV 171 calibre (Dubois Dépraz derivation) and with countdown and fly-back, indispensable functions for water sports enthusiasts to measure their performance. The counter of the countdown function evokes the spinnaker, the sail hoisted on the bow in sailing boats. The intense blue of the dial is marked by a red "V", the traditional symbol of Louis Vuitton, also discreetly present on the strap. A limited edition of 250 pieces is available in a select number of Louis Vuitton shops from December 2010.
