Montblanc: a chronograph named Origins

In homage to Minerva's origins, Montblanc presents the 1858 Monopusher Chronograph Origins Limited Edition 100, a re-edition of the 46 mm military single-pusher chronograph from the 1930s, the main source of inspiration for the entire 1858 collection (hence the name Origins). To the case, the same size as the original model and made of a special bronze alloy that develops a particular patina over time, a double back has been added, as in traditional pocket watches, decorated with engravings on both sides. On opening it, one discovers the MB Calibre M16.29 that equips it, an authentic reconstruction of the original Calibre 19-09, a 19-line movement developed in 1909, complete with a main plate and bridges in unfinished nickel silver, the iconic V-shaped bridge (whose design has been protected since 1912), a column wheel, a horizontal coupling and the traditional 18,000 A/h frequency. In common with its predecessor, it features a black dial with cathedral hands and beige SuperLuminova numerals for optimal legibility in the dark. A reference to the chronograph of the 1930s is the Minerva logo on the dial positioned symmetrically below the historic Montblanc logo at 6 o'clock. Other vintage details include the bi-compax counters with large minute and small seconds chronographs and the minute track, all of which have been taken from the original design. The watch features a new vintage-style strap in shaded brown alligator leather, with beige stitching, and is available in a limited edition of 100 pieces. On sale for 30,800 euros.
