The MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase lands on the Moon again, thanks to the new New Moon variant with a black case, dial and strap.

After the white-coloured model launched on 26 March, Swatch Now celebrate the new moon with the MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase New Moon, featuring the colour black. Just like the Full Moon, this MoonSwatch features the moon phase display on the dial, with Snoopy taking a nap. Two years after the launch of the collaboration with Omegawhich was a great success, Swatch is therefore launching not one, but two new non-limited edition models celebrating the moon, namely the Full Moon and now the New Moon. The latter features a moon-phase disc in black, with an indicator also in black, semi-transparent, to celebrate the new moon.

As with the rest of the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection, purchases are limited to one watch per person, per shop and per day. On the dial at 2 o'clock, Snoopy, Nasa's mascot, indicates the phases of the moon. A secret quotation from the Snoopy comic strip, visible in the dark, is embedded on the moon phase display and disc, between crescent moons and stars.

The Silver Snoopy Award is the most prestigious honour the US space agency bestows on individuals and organisations, as a result of exceptional achievements related to flight safety or mission success. This prestigious prize was awarded to Omega in 1970 for its fundamental role in the history of space exploration, including the essential contribution to bringing the Apollo 13 crew home safely.

In addition, in May 1969, the Apollo 10 mission, in charge of conducting an initial sweep prior to a lunar landing attempt, had to skim the lunar surface and 'snoop around' to locate the Apollo 11 landing site. The lunar module was christened Snoopy. Since then, The Snoopy emblem is considered by astronauts to be a good luck charm.
